The Love of God – Eastertide4 Tuesday

The Lord loves us so much.  This is the inescapable conclusion we come to today.  And no one will ever steal them from me.  The Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone, and no one can steal from the Father.  God does not want to let us go.  Our security is deeply anchored in the heart of the eternal Father.  Yet his love for us is so true and genuine that he will let us go if we don’t want to follow him.  The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice.  It is a question he asks us, a burning question from the heart of God: Do you love me?  Do you love the sound of my voice?  Throughout the day is your ear tuned for the first rustle, the first slightest sound of the voice of the Beloved?  Let us beg this grace from the Lord today: that he change our hearts, he open our hearts, to the first feel of his touch, the first rustle of his cloak, the first whisper of his voice which knows us, and gives us eternal life.
